Nick Engels is Founder and President of Engels Leadership LLC. A gifted coach, facilitator, teacher, and relationship trustee, Nick mentors established and emerging leaders in family businesses, professional firms, higher education institutions, health care, and not-for-profit organizations.
Nick’s approach helps leaders gain clarity, confidence, and a higher-maturity presence by connecting high-gain actions steps to multidisciplinary principles from neuroscience, epigenetics, biological and family systems, anthropology, and evolutionary behavior. Through Nick’s guidance, managers and executives work to address personal and organizational accountability, respond strategically to change and uncertainty, strengthen firm partner connection, and promote greater candor and depth among family members and/or business partners.
Nick delivers his specialized leadership teaching nationwide to numerous professional groups including family business stakeholders, medical teams, C-suite executives, boards of directors, universities and colleges, and correctional facility inmates. He also co-teaches the Advanced Leadership Course in partnership with Leadership Coaching, Inc., and is launching a series of coaching workshops specifically for parent leaders in the fall of 2021.
Nick earned a bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University, a master’s degree from the University at Buffalo, and completed his postgraduate work at The Bowen Center for the Study of the Family at Georgetown in Washington, DC. His leadership background also includes more than 10 years in the Family and Behavioral Health fields.
Nick currently resides in upstate New York. In his spare time, he enjoys meaningful conversations, backcountry camping, climbing, writing, and pickup basketball.
