What we applaud as honesty and transparency in an individual

is actually the humble demeanor of the apprentice

someone paying extreme attention

to themselves

to others

to life

to the next step

which they may survive or they may not

someone who does not have all the answers

but who is attempting to learn what they can

about themselves

and those with whom they share the journey

-David Whyte

I am a relationship trustee who coaches, facilitates, and teaches established and emerging leaders in family businesses, professional firms, tech start ups, higher education institutions, health care, and not-for-profit organizations.

ultidisciplinary research from neuroscience, behavioral economics, biological and family systems, anthropology, and evolutionary theory. The result is responsible and mature leaders who integrate:

discipline with flexibility

clarity with curiosity

confidence with humility

coaching with teaching

relationship connection with accountability

My approach blends multiple disciplines, so each leadership process is different. I help leaders connect high-gain actions steps to neuroscience, behavioral economics, biological and family systems, anthropology, and evolutionary behavior. Through Nick’s guidance, managers and executives work to address personal and organizational accountability, respond strategically to change and uncertainty, strengthen firm partner connection, and promote greater candor and depth among family members and/or business partners.

learning over solving, relationships over learn, build, and help others help themselves, instead of solving and fclearer minds, more confident relationship management, and a higher-maturity presence, helps leaders gain clarity, confidence, and a higher-maturity presence by connecting high-gain actions steps to multidisciplinary principles from neuroscience, epigenetics, biological and family systems, anthropology, and evolutionary behavior. Through Nick’s guidance, managers and executives work to address personal and organizational accountability, respond strategically to change and uncertainty, strengthen firm partner connection, and promote greater candor and depth among family members and/or business partners.

Nick delivers his specialized leadership teaching nationwide to numerous professional groups including family business stakeholders, medical teams, C-suite executives, boards of directors, universities and colleges, and correctional facility inmates. He also co-teaches the Advanced Leadership Course in partnership with Leadership Coaching, Inc., and is launching a series of coaching workshops specifically for parent leaders in the fall of 2021.

Nick earned a bachelor’s degree from Quinnipiac University, a master’s degree from the University at Buffalo, and completed his postgraduate work at The Bowen Center for the Study of the Family at Georgetown in Washington, DC. His leadership background also includes more than 10 years in the Family and Behavioral Health fields.

Nick currently resides in upstate New York. In his spare time, he enjoys meaningful conversations, backcountry camping, climbing, writing, and pickup basketball.

Across a multitude of domains, I help leaders integrate three key questions:

What has happened?

What is happening now?

What will happen later?
